Using Recyclable and Household items for Children to Create Collages

and Other Works of Art

Watch the creativity flow when you give children a wide variety of craft materials, recyclable items, and household products and let them go wild. They will create the most amazing, wonderful items, they will have fun, and they will make a huge mess. The end result is well worth the work of cleaning up.

Materials Needed: Directions:

Constuction Paper
Typing Paper
Tag Board
Tissue Paper
Wax Paper
Plastic Wrap
Aluminum Foil
Small Paper Cups
Paper Plates
Cotton Balls
Recylables
Q Tips
Yarn or String
Popcorn
Leaves, Pine Cones
Glue
Scissors
Old newspapers/magazines
Markers
Crayons
And more!!! Take all of--or any of these items, and any more that you can think of and put them on a table. If there is more than one child you should be able to just let them go at it. If there is just one child--you may have to join in and create your own work of art. I highly recommend joining in--even if the children don't need your encouragement. It can be a lot of fun!!!
